Toyota Harrier Recond 2015

#1 Post by sunooi88 » Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:07 pm

Hi guys, i just got a Toyota Harrier Recond 2015. The car didn't come with any SD card with any map file. :(

So i decided to do it on my own see whether i can 'revive' the navigation system. But after reading and searching the forum here, i still didn't find any clue which map source should i put into.

Any advice? O:)

Hi sunooi88,

Below steps only as a guide to install MSM maps to your unit since I'm not familiar with Toyota AVN (different cars came with different AVN model). Assuming that your AVN capable of showing Junction View and Lane Assist.

1. Download this map version gmapsupp_v827.zip & unzip the files.
2. On your SD Card, create <d>:\Garmin\JCV folder where <d> is your SD card drive.
3. Go to the folder where you unzip the files.
4. Copy gmapsupp.img to <d>:\Garmin
5. Copy product.jcv to <d>:\Garmin\JCV
6. Insert your SD to your AVN and start your unit.

sunooi88,

Is your Harrier a recond from Japan with Original Toyota (Eclipse) Entertainment unit?
Looking at your Google pictures, it looks like a Toyota map. Not Garmin.

If its anything like my Land Cruiser, the map is loaded via G-Book which is a CD type thing under the front pax seat.
What map do you have on it now? AFAIK, they don't have Map of Malaysia because this is not one of the countries they
export new cars to. I doubt UMW can help, you may have to contact Aisin Japan. I won't bother, just use your phone of
a Nuvi. Cheaper and less headache.
