Hi,
I am thinking of driving to Mersing and after that taking the ferry to Tioman.
Anyone can advice a good and safe place to park my car around the Mersing Jetty?

Don't worry. There are proper car parks around the jetty. Not free though. Should be safe enough.

Vice,

When are you heading to Tioman? Will be driving up tomorrow morning and back next tuesday. Will let you know then where I parked and if anything happened to my car.

I heard the car parks around the jetty are always full on most weekends. Is this true?
Since need to pay, will there be a 24hr security? And is it a sheltered car park?

Have parked at the nearby car parks on my previous. No issue with security. The carparks are not paved and the lots are not marked. The only "shelter" you get is underneath some trees. Be warned though it may provide shade from the sun but not from the leaves, fruit sap and droppings etc. Had to go for car wash the first time i parked underneath the "shelter".

Anyway enjoy your holidays and not be bothered by this matter

There's a barrier protected parking just next to the ferry terminal. This is parking on grass patch. Be careful not to park underneath the coconut or even other trees. You don't want the fruit or branches to fall onto your car and cause a dent.

Then there's also a small private parking just opposite the road, next to the stall selling food/drinks. The stall owner will lift up the barrier for you to park. This is parking on tarmac.

Then opposite this is a larger carpark (not sure what community building that is). Also can park there.

Parking is charged by the day. Best you also bring along a wheel lock to deter potential car thieves.

I'm back from super relaxing holiday at Panuba 8-)

Took my friend's advise to travel from Tanjung Gemuk jetty instead of Mersing jetty because ferry not affected by low tide. TG is <1hr north of Mersing. Parking is right within jetty compound, RM$10/night. It is fenced up and counter staff told me it is "guarded 24hrs because government building". Most importantly, my car was still in once piece after the trip. Have a good and safe trip, my trip POI for your reference.

Thanks to all brothers and sisters for updating the malsing map, no problem at all for this route. =D>
