Appreciate you can recommend a nice hotel/seaside resort (< RM250 ?) near KT that we can stay before returning S'pore the next day. Thank You.
Within KT town, recommended lodging (4 star rated) would be:

Grand Continental KT, dbl from RM170++, location: N5.33487 E103.14654, city.
Primula Beach Resort, dbl from RM189nett, location: N5.32931 E103.15057, beachfront.

Have planned and looking forward to drive to Kuala Terengganu from Cameron Highlands, via Kuala Berang along this route next week. Thanks very much for the route descriptions.

Appreciate you can recommend a nice hotel/seaside resort (< RM250 ?) near KT that we can stay before returning S'pore the next day. Thank You.

I recomended Grand Continantal Hotel, Primula Park Royal ta Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin. If you want cheaper hotel you can choose Batu Buruk Beach Resort or Sri Indah resort

Correct, it's Highway T156, right junction from Highway 8 is about 1km after Shell Chiku if coming from Gua Musang.

Wanna share my 'T156 adventure' as part of my 1500km journey 3rd~9th Feb 2008.

08/02/2008 10:15:46 35 km/h N4 58.378 E102 12.565 - From KKrai on route #8 Entered T156
08/02/2008 10:29:25 42 km/h N4 56.737 E102 20.420 - Encountered a landslide. Not fully repaired yet
08/02/2008 10:34:50 37 km/h N4 56.465 E102 23.377 - Hit large pothole - about 0.5m wide and 10cm deep
08/02/2008 10:37:28 32 km/h N4 56.453 E102 24.680 - Dangerous Chicane
08/02/2008 10:40:12 48 km/h N4 56.795 E102 26.089 - Tmn Negara Junction
08/02/2008 10:41:55 29 km/h N4 57.622 E102 26.096 - After driving on bad and narrow road at very low speeds, finally arrived at wide and level tarmac, but there is still no white line painted on... after all it was still on Kelantan side
08/02/2008 10:45:30 74 km/h N4 57.699 E102 27.380 - arrived at Cow dung zone, about 2km stretch!

08/02/2008 10:50:19 74 km/h N4 59.844 E102 29.522 - Finally arrived at Terengganu border after driving on bad road in Kelantan side for more than 30minutes. This part of the road is as good if not better than Karak Highways...and it is just a state road [not federal!] Looking at the road, one can judge how wealthy Trengganu is when compared to Kelantan...

Under the bridge there are large spaces to park cars and for camping on both sides of the banks. A good place for Joran Kaki too.... Unfortunately the site is not completely prepared for the purpose yet - perhaps in a couple months it will be 100% completed, for now is a must for a brief stop though.

There were few ppl with their 4WDs there, some set tents and others did a little fishy thing... I mean, fishing. It seemed that one of the 4WDs got battery problem. I wished I could help, but my small car may not have enough sprite for the purpose... :-k
