K Berang - Tasik Kenyir - G Musang with the T156 is fantastic.
Good view too..but better fill up your fuel full at K Berang or G Musang.
Otherwise have to cruise rather than have 'enthusiastic' drive on it.

Anybody been on this route recently? I am coming to Malaysia soon as was intending to drive from Setiu in Terengganu to the Camerons. Thought it would be a nice scenic drive but worried that it will take ages and there might be problems along the way. I will be taking my friend's Camry.

The route is not officially opened, any vehicle using it is at own risk, no insurance coverage if accident occur. Now a day the road had been badly damage due to heavy vehicle using it. The road is full of pots and holes. Its is not advisable to used it right now.

I have read posts on the incomplete link of the T156/ 1744 to allow travel from Ipoh - Simpang Pulai - Cameron Highlands - Gua Musang - Kuala Berang – Kuala Terengganu.

I'm getting conflicting information as to whether all the road is driveable. I'm proposing to go by 2WD but am happy to use a 4WD if that's more advisable. I understand that the incomplete sections are not technically open to the public but people seem to be using them anyway.

Does anyone have any up to date information about road conditions in the incomplete sections? For example, is there still a detour through the Felda Aring palm oil estate and is that a problem?

I'm looking to do the trip in a fortnight so would be grateful for any information.
