Too bad the recording feature is not yet available, else I'd swap my Max.
The old decoder should work with the new b.yond dish right?

Don't think you can retain the max box. They are going to swap everything.

FAQ: How do I sign up for Astro B.yond Box?
If you want to keep your current Astro box, you are required to pay a RM80.00 standard installation fee.
Can keep for RM80, but it'll be useless without the smartcard

FAQ: Can I swap my Astro MAX box with the Astro B.yond Box?
At the moment, the Astro B.yond Box doesn't have recording function unlike Astro MAX
The record button on the remote is reserved for future .. probably when they figure out how to hook the decoder to external disks

From Byond FAQ:
I see two different types of High-Definition television sets at the retailers. Some have the label HD-Ready and some have Full HD; which one should I buy?
Both HD-Ready television and Full HD television are capable of displaying standard definition and high definition broadcast. You should buy a television set that meets your budget requirement. :$gone:
so no need lah to buy a new LCD if u already have HD ready set
by the way u also can get ready with 1 or 1.5TB Buffalo external disk once they introduced the recording capability...again :$gone:

the extra charges will not be effctive immediatly..it will be charge sometimes on Apr '10 onwards..
probably they want the customer to feel the HD effect first :drinkers:
