Sure one! Am getting a new LG 42" LCD for AstroHD in the lounge, while the current Samsung 40" LCD goes into our AV room. :D

The Astro installer finally makes a house-call on Xmas eve to set ours up. After much discussion we decide to put the dish (slightly larger than the old one) at the front of the house due to easy access and satellite line-of-sight.

The white coax cable snakes its way along the white side wall to the lounge at the back (we have a dual-frontage house), where a hole is drilled at the thinnest part of the wall into the telephone socket. From there the cable goes to the decoder and LCD.

Installation setup commences and with a little amp fixed along the lengthy cable from the dish to boost the signal, ...

... we get max strength! Even the installer is surprised at this, first time for him, said he.

Astro Supersport HD is my first test.

Serie A match in progress. I believe the ori video is in 1080 format, and hence the great quality.

Excellent start, esp. with HBO HD Xmas/NewYear goodies!
:D

Better call customer service. My installer came 10 days after I applied. He said he only got the work order from Astro the day before - not his fault.

HBO HD has lotsa goodies now - tomorrow is Batman marathon: http://u.nu/6stc4

So far am satisfied with the 1080i video and 5.1 audio. :)

I've just called astro to install byond on my parents house. But I'm not yet willing to let go of astromax at my house for byond. Too bad there's no more 2nd decoder for 50% off offer or I'd get that one for byond.

Just watched Batman's The Dark Knight on Astro HBO HD. With a Full HD 42" LCD just 7-8 feet away, I thot I was watching it on Blu-ray. Audio 5.1 was also excellent. Good stuff! :D

The astro installer coming petang today to fix Byond - yay!

Naim - what i wanna know is whether the decoder has a second video output - be it coaxial or RCA or whatever. My FullHD TV sits in the gaming room next to the bedroom - dedicated solely to umm .. gaming (my mother in law constantly rants that she cannot understand how a thirty something still plays videogames. Hey! Only adults can afford it ma!)

Mainstream / Astro TV watching all done in the bedroom on a smaller 32" HD ready TV. So i was thinking of having the HDMI signal routed to the FullHD TV and the second signal to the HD Ready LCD. Not sure if it is possible ..

Either that or I get a HDMI splitter - if ever there was such a device. And then i need a mega long HDMI cable .. We'll see what the installer says today ..
