Well you asked me to get into this site of yours and here I am.
I was cheering for Dragon Boat on lane 5 but couldnt see how they finished as they were too fast for me...the wind on my sails wasnt so great . My tongkang with sails was the one with the black, blue and red spinnaker. I guess they must have won....Lane 5; yours wasnt it?
So...where do I start to get my GPS updated and google earth all tied up, Guru? I have almost lat-longed 351 schools and done some track uploads but not to the 1second bleeps you suggested. Anyone knows how to set that up in the Nuvii255W? Setup seems very basic. Not tried the 76CS as its not so friendly on land but great with the Blue Charts.
Uncle Starboard Tacker,

Yes we won both our races. The race you witnessed was the SCCA Men's final. We were 2nd all the way and overtook
much younger Tawau Teochew team 2 flag posts from the finish. Experience won the race for us. The Tawau Sunday
Hashers were the starting favourites but they had helming problem which caused their boat to veer almost at the start.
Its hard to recover from such situation.

Off-topic here: Uncle SBT, just PM Sifu BernGPS your GPSID numbers. He'll fix you up with an unlock code. You can
email me the School POIs.

Thanks

25th Tawau Dragon Boat Race 14th June 2009

Its that time of the year again, after eating too much "Chung" we needed a bit of exercise.
We took only 1 team (Team B) this year to Tawau. Tawau was using 6 brand new boats for
the race this year but unfortunately the boats are not of "international" specifications.

To cut the story short, we came in third, with Tawau Sunday Hashers in 1st and Tawau Teochew
in 2nd place respectively. This 3rd place turns out to be a blessing in disguise as will be revealed
in the KK race.

24TH Sabah Dragon Boat Race 2009
Likas Bay, K. Kinabalu 20-21st June 2009

We came into this year's race destined to get third placing, or so the oppositions thought.
We fielded a young team in Tawau and we rowed badly, only managing to hang on to 3rd place.
Far behind Tawau Sunday Hashers and Tawau Teochew Association our friendly rival.

A different strategy is needed, so we came with one mixed team (our Team B from Tawau with 9
additional wawa members) as well as our rejuvenated Team A from last year. We got off to a very
shaky start when some of our members were late because of transport mixed-up. We were short of 2
female rowers but they made it in the last minute to avoid the "No-show" rule.

The Mixed Team made short work of the competition and gave Team A a very good moral boost.

This ended our most successful outing in a very long time. Sdk race is in Aug sometime and we can
expect Tawau teams will be seeking revenge. We overheard Tawau saying that Sdk is very sneaky.
Haha, win or loose, doesn't matter, as long as the tradition lives on ...
