Someone who made a reservation with a local dealer here, was quoted S$2000 kit and S$1700 for body only.

hi storm,

Do you know what accessories come with the set? Hope they included a decent high speed and capacity SD card.

Dear Bro Moey,

I have never experienced Nikon to offer their camera bodies with any media memory cards so perhaps you can forget about it.

Goodies comes from seller, not Nikon. Retail store can throw you some extra goodies like some cheap tripod, filters, etc. If you get an extra tripod and have no use for it you can offer it to me, I've just broke mine :muak:

Sashinki.com offers me the followings:
- Nikon D7000 DSLR Camera (Body) (Free Sandisk 8GB SDHC + Nikon DSLR Bag) for RM3,950.00
- Nikon D7000 DSLR Camera Kit with Nikon 18-105mm DX VR Lens (Free Sandisk 8GB SDHC + Nikon DSLR Bag) for RM4,598.00

Thanks Bro Jason n nyem,

I was offered RM3900.00 for the body and RM4550.00 with the same kit. No mention of any goodies. This is better than the list price offered in Hong Kong for HK$12800.00 with the kit. You do know of any demo 'unit' anywhere in Penang to get a feel?... cheers!

At last, I got my hands on the brand new Nikon D7000 at Lam Loong Photo House, Gurney plaza. The quoted price is Body @RM4K and with Kit 18-105mm Lens @RM4.6K (with bag and 8Gb SD card).

The grip and feel are no better than the D90 or the Canon 550D. Is it a little small and uncomfortable for my hand. Unfortunately no demo unit and no shot taken. I took the chance to explore the D300s that has much better in grip and feel. But @RM4700 for body it can be painful. Will make a decision soon... but still like to shoot a few shots with the D7000 to see the results....as for now the D300s looks so good... :$gone:

Questions?

- What type of shots to take when choosing a new camera?....
I will check for Depth of field, Low lights, ISO settings & etc
- Would you bring along your regular camera for comparison?....
I would.

Cheers!

bro, bring along your own sd-card to shop, put in demo set, take as many pics as possible under all permutations. take sd-card home and analyse pics and compare with your other cams.

Went over to Gurney Plaza for the 'Pesta Kamera Profesional' hoping to try out the D7000 yesterday..... :x .... no demo unit until Saturday... Reason, the 'Expert and demo unit' is not here.... :finga: Nikon Malaysia :finga: . you screwed up big time.

The list price for the D7000...RM4998 with kit... after discount RM4799.... still higher than the RM4600 quote... but with free gift that I don't need (card reader, tripod, remote control & +2year warranty..may I need the warranty).
