Hi tlchuan?

Any luck? I've done it! Here goes:

PC
1. D/l 'Spanner_21' from Garmin website & install to your PC. (File too big. Can't attach here)
2. Launch 'Spanner_21' & u shud shud see a window to start the program.
3. Press 'find GPS'. Yr Oregon 300 shud appear in the next column.
4. Press 'start' button.
5. Launch UI-View32. Goto SETUP > GPS SETUP
6. Tick the flwg: Baud: 4800, cross-hairs: X, GPS enabled: X
7. Done!

Oregon 300.
1. Connect GPS to PC via USB connection. Set GPS "Mass Storage - NO"
2. Goto SETUP > SYSTEM > INTERFACE > GARMIN SPANNER

Good luck,

de 9W2USB QRT 73,
Azhar

bro tlchuan,

Good to hear that! For my APRS operations, I'm using 2 methods:

1. Using my Yaesu HT VX-8R + GPS. To increase the coverage, simply x-band it with my Yaesu FT-8800, or

2. using my Oregon 300 + UI-View32 + Mobile broadband.

You can check my APRS track (23/11)

73,

Hi evryone,
I've ordered an Oregon 450 from US and should arrive in about 5-8 days time.Iluv the outdoors and frequently do nature trips in Malaysia,Singapore,Indonesia and hoped this equipment will enhance the outdoors better.
Its my first handheld gps besides my Nuvi.I'm wondering if any good souls/experts could help me with this device.Maybe meetup and show its various functions over coffee?
Besides its basic functions like pointing where to go,loading MSM road maps,I'm a total newbie nut.. :ko:
Topo maps..how to install??....

by the way...I'm in Singapore...

As with any gadget, you had already made an investment in hardware. The next investment to make is time, time to read manual and play with device. This way you learn faster and be in a position to ask intelligent questions.

Softcopy manual can be downloaded here : https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/manua ... &pID=63349

Lookout in our community thread for future GG and join us. Here seniors can guide / advise you on your gadget etc ......
Last GG we had closest to Sin was in JB, Thamara Cafe at Taman Bukit Indah, Skudai - Johor. (N1°28.781' E103°39.839') in Dec 19th 2009.
