I just bought the etrex touch 35, which is very new on the market so there isn't much info on it. I have discovered how to reset the profiles in the event the unit cannot boot up because of corrupted profile settings.

Press the power button to switch on the set. When the copyright info appears, touch and hold the upper left hand corner of the screen. A message will appear asking if you want to erase all user data. Click 'erase'. This will reset all user profiles but leaves your data and maps intact.

:tq: for the info. If possible, you may give your experience when using it...

It has been a rainy month so I have no chance to really try it (with my mountain bike). I have been playing with it at home. So far I have upgraded the firmware from 2.50 to 2.80. I have also loaded MSM. MFM and OSM maps.

So far what I like:
1. The size - its is the second lightest model Garmin has (the lightest is the etrex series).
2. The new interface using profiles. It can also revert to classic interface if needed.
3. 4GB internal memory plus micro SD slot.
4. Quite speedy, not 64s speed but still fast.
5. The display is very customizable. There are about 90 over parameters that can be displayed on data, map, compass, barometer and satellite screens!
5. It fits on my mountain bike handlebar/stem very nicely.
6. All the latest connectivity - Ant, Bluetooth and Garmin wireless transfer.

What I wish Garmin would improve on:
1. Software stability. Sometimes the unit would freeze, especially when I get too impatient. I then have to remove the batteries. This has happened to me trice already.
2. Higher resolution screen. 160x240 is a little coarse for map viewing.

Another tip. Switch off the auto calibration for the Altimeter. If left on, it will sync the barometer with the GPS elevation info, giving very ridiculous height reading. Once at home the height reading went from 40m (reasonable) to 320m!

The default barometer setting is ISO standard 1013.2 hPa. You would need to re-enter this value in case auto calibration messed up the setting.
