Thanks..

I have a question.. How do I combine .img files which are unlocked?
I was trying to combine the unlocked Jan08 MSM maps with the topo maps using the "combine_all_Files-n-unicd_v3" but it doesn't not work. When I press "N" when it prompts to key in the unlock code, the maps does not show in the Vista HCX after the complete .img file was combined.
Pls help.

As with any "exposed" devices, anything is possible. especially more prone at traffic junctions.

if you scared, then use the lanyard to secure to your bike :D

yeah, thanks for the info bros, i guess it will be of good use during normal speeds. Thus gotta be careful during stops at red lights.

I like the lanyard part.. i was thinking of using metal laptop cables..

I have done countless trips with my eTrex, secured only by 3M Dual Lock velcro, to Malaysia on my motorbikes. On short stops, I don't even bother to remove the GPS from the bike.

I think your handphone is a more likely target than the GPS.

I always make sure the lanyard is tied to the bike in some manner - no, not as theft prevention but rather for the safety of the GPSr in the event of crashes so that it don't fly too far away!

As an aside, it does seem that HCX is the most economical unit when it comes to battery consumption - it beats the 60CSx by some way. Don't even mention the Colo's and the Oregon's who don't stand a chance.
Malsingmaps is now an official partner of Garmin to produce maps for MY, SG & Brunei.
