Before you set fire to the top of your head again, please ask yourself this question:

Are you using the original GMXT SD card in your phone?

because, GMXT will only legally work in your phone if you do either of this 2 things:

1) Use original GMXT SD card
or
2) Use Garmin 10X BT GPSr.

If you are unwilling to do either of this 2 things, then your discussion will end here.
To go any further will be against MSM policy.

I bought the Nokia E66 this month,
I am using builtin GPS to enable the Garminmobile XT without using any external device.....

Did the shop install GMXT for you or did you install it yourself?

If Malsingmaps /Mapking map do not support software for symbian version, how do one update the Garmin map in Nokia E66? ( If one already installed Garmin software into Nokia phone E66 with the original Garmin SD Card). Assistance required.

I think you misread. Nokia Symbian can. SE version cannot (I think something like this).

Malsingmaps has maps in both Garmin and Mapking format. If your device is using Garmin GPS software, then just install the Garmin format map. The Mapking map is not applicable.

deani77 is saying that if your Symbian device is using Mapking GPS software, it may not support the Malsingmaps Mapking format map.

help with garmin gmxt

#18 Post by larrylow » Tue Oct 27, 2009 8:32 am

Dear All, can someone help me. I just installed the garmin mobil xt version 5.00(40) into my Nokia e66. I get the maps etc but I am having trouble getting a satellite fix. It takes ages if at all. Only gets a lock if I am walking in clear conditions after say 5 minutes or so but does not work in the car etc. Please help if you can. Thanks.

The first initial sat lock will take a few mins but subsequent locks should take less than a minute - particularly if you have AGPS on. If the problem happens when in your car, then it is most likely due to the solarfilm that is blocking off the signals.
