Hi all

I will be getting an iPhone soon, just wonder if there is any map software available to be used with the 10x?

You should read up the review on the net.

The most common con is :
No MMS, no 3G. Limited Bluetooth profiles-- you can't use Stereo Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth GPS or keyboard. No Office-compatible suite and not much in the way of 3rd party programs yet.

Or HTC Touch, for the "touchy feeling". Works great with our Malsingmaps (with GMXT and GarminQue) says Jaguar. O:)

The Garmin Mobile XT is the software most commonly used with the 10x.

While this is true, i don't think GMXT is supported in your iPhone platform at the moment. Currently it is supported for WM, Palm, Symbian UIQ3 and Symbian S60 platforms.

At this moment, there is no gps nav application on iPhone. But as per bro wsian post above, with limited BT profiles and not able to use BT GPSr then it can be quite a challenge.
Check This Out - Click Here

Btw, 10X (hardware) can be used with most GPS navigation application (requiring Garmin,NMEA..etc protocol) that has BT connectivity.

When mobile-review put up the review saying that iPhone is qualified as smartphone, angry iphone supporters lauched DoS to jam the website.

Thanks all for the advice. The reason of getting the iPhone, honestly is for the LOOK and OS X.  . It doesnt support Bluetooth Serial Profile(BT HandFree Profile), so 10x or any BT receiever is out. What a pity with such a big and nice screen.

HTC touch is a good choice, but running on WM system... (have had bad experience with WM).

As for N95, I have been using the first Nokia 3G phone, N6680 till now, check out the N95, very feature rich, but the problem I dont use those features and to me is not worth the money to spend.

Anyway, thanks all for the advice. I am waiting for my iPhone... \:D/

Looks? Okay. O:)

OS X? Mmm ... Why not Linux? More open, though only one major smartphone have used Linux on their device, Motorola.

What about one handed usage? or two thumbed typing? The totally screen based iPhone doesn't make either easy to do.

Bad WM? Well, you just have to treat WM like any other Windows machine. Consider them liable to crash/freeze after any extended usage. So reboot them as often as you can stand. Some WM users reboot their device daily. I reboot mine about once or twice a week. No problems of phone usage since PPC2003, WM2003SE and WM5, in the last 6 years or so.

I'm now itching to get HTC TyTN II, great at two thumbed typing, also good for one handed usage and on table typing. Yeah, that mini laptop flipup screen LOOK. Hehe.
