Can someone please advise if I could install and use Garmin maps in my iPhone? I need to know if this is possible before I try to install garmin GMXT and Garmin maps in my iPhone. Anyone out there has done it? Please share your advice.
Thanks!

Of course not possible. iPhone is not in symbian platform.
BTW, Garmin is going to release their own phone in Linux & WM6. So I don't think they want to move GMXT to iPhone.

(former subject: IPHONE application for Garmin Img EXISTS ! But...)

First of all, I would like to congratulate all the contributors of 00008888.img. The map looks fantastic especially on an iPhone. Manipulating the map using the iPhone's user-interface (eg. zooming with fingers, shifting with touch and drag) makes the experience even more incredible.

ImgOsm is an application I developed for the Apple iPhone to display any Garmin's img file and navigates using the built-in GPS-like receiver. Unfortunately you cannot buy it because it has just been rejected by Apple Corp. after they took 3 months to review it. They do not allow it for the Apple Store.

However, the manual (ImgOsm_V1.0.PDF) is available for download at http://sites.goggle.com/site/seewaterdesign. Currently, I am the only person enjoying the iPhone+00008888.img combination and other maps as well. :nehneh:

If there is great request on this, I can video-record and post the video of my iPhone running 00008888.img.
