Hi everyone,
First, i like to say hi to everyone as I'm a newbie in GPS. Next, I would like to seek the advise from all the gurus here. I've just installed Garmin Mobile XT(5.00.20) on my 6210. One intermitten issue that i've encountered is the GPS is not turned off after i've close the Garmin XT application from the phone. When that happens, the only way is to restart the phone. Please kindly advise. Thanks.

This may be related to your case:

Some phones, you need to exit the prog itself. Simply pressing 'end' button does not exit GMXT.
You are just exiting from that page and the prog is still running in the background. I know this
is the case for E66. If you press and hold the menu button, all the progs running in the background
will show up.

Hi bartmp8,
Thanks for your reply. I have actually exit the program using the exit in the Garmin mobile XT. I verified that the program is not running by depressing the menu button and I can see that the GarminXT is no longer running. Could the problem be related to my version of the Garmin XT? After browsing thru the forums, i discovered that there are lotsa issues with version 5 and many forumers have actually down graded to version 4. I also discovered that the GPS is not accurate as it sometimes ask me to turn right when there isn't a right turn available.

Regards

Bro not sure about v5 bugs, I have not heard others complaining about this. Let see if any actual GMXT/Nokia
members can enlighten us all.

Simply move over to the antenna signal strength icon.
Select by pressing down the button.
From here, you can off ur gps option.
And there you have ur gps off.

Try out.

Hi,
Thanks for the tip. Will try turning it off from the antenna strength icon when it happen again.
As for the inaccuracy of the location, is it due to my hardware(GPS) or due to the Garmin Mobile XT software? My phone is still new(less than 7 days) so if there's any hardware issue, I hope that I can detect it early n send it back to nokia. Thanks again.

Regards
