I noticed that the N82 has a AV out and is supplied with a AV cable. I tried connecting the N82 using this cable to the TV and it works. Now the question...

I have a JVC DVD headunit with 7" screen; it can take in external AV input. This being the case, I believe I can connect the N82 to my JVC headunit and use the 7" screen for navigation. Anyone tried this type of setup before?

Now, for our part, have you tried it with your N82 and how did it show up?

If this works and if the N95 Mark II also has an AV output, I'll emulate your solution to mount a 7" or 9" to my dashboard too. \:D/

Just don't say it worked only with the TV at home....

Need to remove the JVC head unit in the car to attach the AV cables, and then can connect to the N82 to try. Most ICE mechanics are already away because of CNY, so will do in around mid-Feb. I'm confident it will work.

Hi guys, I have tried my N82 with a China Made 7" screen in my car via the external av output and it works fine, no problems, even the wide angle works when you tilt the phone and it chages to landscape mode. very cool. will post a pic once i have the chance, need to find a digital camera, can't do it with the n82 or the screen changes from mobile xt to the camera app :-. . :D

:tq: With that confirmed... as seeing is believing, =D> this also confirms you ought to have both units running as well... touch-screen on the N82 and only viewing it larger through yr vehicle's 7" TV Monitor right?
Any commands or applications needed during a drive can only take place thru the Nokia Handphone.... :-k

I'm not sure if the N82 has a USB port, but if it has, then there's even possibilities of hooking up a touchscreen on it too! Now that would be cool...

bro cruiser, yes your are right, the display is for viewing only, no controls, alas the N82 has no touchscreen... :ko:. bro sentravip, The N82 does have a usb port but don't know whether its possible to control the touchscreen through that.
