Yup I am aware they come with different but latest firmware installed.

Perhaps I was wrong but isn't the Mal/Sin version suppose to display all the POI icons? And this happened to be one of the advantages to own a Mal/Sin set over the US set?

Didn't know now that 760 from different region is able to display different category of POI icons, interesting.

Triodeman wrote:So the questions are:

1) Is my local set's software/firmware somehow corrupted which make it unable to view the POI icon or is it suppose to be this way ? Appreciate if any brothers with local set 760 can please check and verify?

2) Why the local set is able to show other POIs but not these AXA, SAM and Wi-fi Wireless POIs ? Is is because the way these POIs are created is different from the rest? Any expert can share this? O:)

Thanks for reading.
Local sets can show POIs in navigation mode is something discussed extensively by me and others in several threads such as this: viewtopic.php?p=92432#p92432

But your first question on US sets showing some POIs not shown by local sets is not known to me.

Anyway, just a reminder not to email Garmin for help as they will not help since you are not using their map. And some MSM mappers also do not want to invite unneccessary attention from Garmin. But if you face the same problem when using official Garmin map, that's different.

Ha ha, precisely this is why I raise the POI display questions on the two 760s that I am currently holding.

Just want to know if this is normal ..... hopefully the expert can share something ...

Was told we need to contact the local Garmin dealer to update the firmware ...... very troublesome.

BTW does your unit display the AXA, SAM, Wifi Wireless POI icons during navigation mode?

SAM & AXA stations are for Singapore only

SAM is acronym for Self-Service Automated Machine (S.A.M.) operated by Singapore POST. It is a 24-hour automated post office that allows you to weigh your packages, buy stamps, or even pay off your bills and fines.

AXS machines likewise operates similarly but is run by a private company.
