I still use my Nuvi 765 which is same family as your Nuvi 760

Just download our maps from our download section link : http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 90#p203790

Unzip the map file gmapsupp.img.
Go buy a SD card and create a folder /garmin.
Put the map file gmapsupp.img in that folder.
Enjoy and please contribute new POI, error reporting to our community

[HELP] Garmin Nuvi 760 Touch Screen Sensor Faulty

#474 Post by rickiechen » Tue Mar 19, 2013 5:13 pm

:prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

I got my Nuvi 760 from Amazon US back in 2007. Recently, I no longer able to touch the screen for the menu, navigation. It is now either On or Off.

I then get a Torx screw driver to get access the inner part of the device and found that the component that connects to the touch screen has been brown-yellowish (burnt colour).

All I ask for is anyone here can refer me for a replacement?

Many thanks!!

Your word "replacement" as in repair or want to acquire a new set? If you want to repair it, you can send it to one of the two local distributors but for such repair, they will probably have to forward it to Garmin Taiwan, which might be costly and not worth it. The distributors are Allbright Technologies and Navicom Technologies. If you want to buy a new Nuvi, go to Perfect Watch at level 1 Sim Lim Square and look for the boss, Mr. Yan.

If you are anywhere in Kuala Lumpur, you can try this shop. Their website is:

Hope this helps...

For DIY, try this site for parts. If it is just glass or whole digitizer, prices are stated.
