Can Garmin supported TMC recieved traffic info in Singapore?
Hi,
Wonder if those who have the hardware (and subscription??) tested if a Garmin set with TMC receiver (e.g. Garmin 765T, or Garmin 255 with the optional TMC receiver) can receive traffic information in Singapore and be detoured by the Garmin navigation software using a route with less traffic?
Or if we wanted that feature, we are stucked wit Holux 62 series and Papago X3 softare?
Thanks.

Re: Nuvi 765 vs Nuvi 1460
Another finding from me
1460
New software interface , faster respond like iPHone
Slim design
New design
Icon looks nicer
bigger speaker , sound more real
765
with music player & 3.5mm output
size more compact ( maybe due to smaller screen )
all this is my personal opinion maybe useful for people want to buy GPS

Re: garmin bluetooth function
Yup, some sort of hand free kit for you to received and dial a number when you are guided by the navigation device.

Garmin don't ever bother to protect the unit with plastic when shipped from factory. Don’t think they will spend addition money on the screen protector.

GPS accuracy/CPU performance (garmin and others)
Hello everyone, have got a question about the GPS accuracy or performance of automotive units
I have a nuvi 255w and when I am driving with it, when I don't take the exit calculated for me on highways (whether intentionally or not), sometime my icon is shown as following the exit - the unit thinks that I have taken the exit when I have not.
Is this a problem with the GPS accuracy?
Or is it that my GPS CPU is too slow to work out correctly from the satellite data it received that I have missed the exit and that it is just "guessing" that I took the planned exit and so it just show the icon travelling where it thinks I "should" have gone, until it calculates enough that "actually, eh, I am not on that road"?
Almost all GPS (at least for Garmin?) now use the same GPS "system" internally so the difference is only software and other components like display and CPU? Will a faster (I guess more expensive) GPS unit not have the "think I took the exit when I didn't" problem?
(When I use my nuvi 255w, I find that its response is not fast (especially when typing names - I mean, calculating slow I can understand/forgive, but the response is slow when typing names, makes it easy to make mistakes). So I am wondering what other problem is the slow CPU speed of my nuvi causing)
