Re: Nuvi-Useful Addition Features

#11 Post by Edwin » Thu Aug 16, 2007 1:40 pm

Although I am using a Nuvi 200 now, but if the future models or even the higher end models have the following features, I may consider upgrading to them:

1. Bluetooth for file transfer and not handsfree use only
2. Tracking would be useful
3. Route uploading, i.e. if I plot a route from Mapsource and want to upload it to my Nuvi to use, it would be good.
4. Better zoom function, probably using a scroll wheel instead of touch screen only, making it faster.
5. Details of map, seems like it either all or none and no intermediate details available.
6. More onboard memory so I can load more maps to run onboard memory and no need to use SD card as this can be slower.

Is someone from Garmin taking notes?

Cheers

:tq:

Am sure Garmin can incorporate a lot of features into a Nuvi GPSr but that will add to the cost of the set. Just compare the 610 and 660. One without TTS and the other with 660 and there is a cost difference adding the TTS. At the end of the day, buy what you need and there is no point paying for so many features which some of us don't use at all. A basic set is what most ppl need.

During navigation and on the map page, they should have quick ways of switching from "track up" to "north up" to "3D" with single key stroke.
