Wahey! Karen is finally on my 255W .. :supz: There's British Daniel TTS too ... but he sounds as if he just got up from bed .. speaks like he was slowly sipping a cuppa ..

Yep. The link to 2.60 cannot be seen on my PC. Same issue when 2.50 was released.

:tq: for the heads-up JBNEWGUY!

Installation Instructions:

1. Download the correct update execution file onto the PC. (Please read first post...)
2. Connect the nuvi to a free USB port on your PC with the USB cable to allow your nuvi to initialize and enter USB mode.
3. Please back up the GPX folder on your nuvi onto your PC in case of the waypoints getting missing during the download and make sure your unit can supply enough battery power for the update(3 cells or above).
4. Execute the update execution file on your PC directly.
5. Follow the instructions provided by the update application on your PC.
6. Remove the USB connection from the PC.
7. The nuvi will automatically restart and do the update by itself. During the update, the nuvi will show the message like "SOFTWARE LOADING or Loader". Please do not turn off the nuvi or remove the external cable if there is any.
8. After the update, the nuvi will restart and turn on by itself.

(Note : This instruction is from Garmin. I will NOT bear any responsibility if anything goes wrong... :-# )

I did copy the GPX folder . Do I need to overwrite the new folder with the old one ?
I just picked one old file ( which size bigger than current) and replaced the current one , no differences I found.
Favorite folder still empty ?
Anyway , since I just bought the unit few days ago , not too hard for me to create them back.
:)

I just wanted to know the proper way to backup and restore for future , thanks !

As Bro Zeus73 mentions, your favorites are stored in Main Memory Garmin / GPS / current.gpx file.

Best is to install Mapsource, transfer all POI into mapsource in lappy
