My MSM NT map is on sd card in sdcard\Garmin. Up start up, both NT2013.10 and MSM NT are loaded. After that I can only untick MSM NT. I cannot untick NT2013.10. So I am stuck with only NT2013.10. If I tick MSM NT only it will also load NT2013.10 thus double loading.

I have deleted all track log files.

Well, I will l just use it with NT2013.10 untill new ideas come up.

bro BanBan, do a screen shot of main memory/garmin. Suspect the NT2013 map file is label as gmapoem thus cannot untick

Well, this morning things are ok. I can tick and and untick either of the map now. Last thing that I did last night was to delete the Garmin folder on sdcard and copy back the map files and JCV. I tested the JCV today on the MSM NT and it worked. Will later test it for NT2013.10.

I am very sure that there is no gmapoem.img file in the nuvi. I checked last night. Clearing all the track logs definitely has an impact. After some time we tend to forget about them. Also, not loading the old CN map that came with the set helps as quite a bit of memory is freed. I now have to make it a practise to clear them every time I update a new map file. The 1460 works smoothly now and not behave like a broken equipment.

Is there a way to disable its track recording?

Tracklogs ... like it or not, cannot be disabled :fire:

Bro SilverBeauty,

You probably mean Trip Log and not tracklog which is true trip logs cannot be disabled but only displayed or hidden (however they can be cleared thus deleted).

Tracklogs however can be disabled. In fact, they are not meant to be user activated because there is a special procedure to follow before you can activate the recording of tracklogs. When activated, there will be a square STOP button at the top centre of the navigation screen. You deactivate or stop recording by touching the STOP button.

Hi guys

My apologies if this issue has been addressed before; I tried searching for solutions but the more I read the more confused I become. So appreciate a quick help as to which maps I should delete from my Garmin 1460. I have:

1) MSM 2013 NT v6.41(latest download)

2) CN SGMY NT 2013.10 Malfree

3) CN SGMY NT 2012.40 Malsing

4) City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT 2011.10

Thanks!

All the maps listed are useful except that they are not the latest versions. I do not know if your Nuvi 1460 is the LM (lifetime map) version where you are entitled to free (device's lifespan) update of your City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT map whenver there is a new release otherwise you need to pay for the update. If your is indeed a LM model, then just leave it alone and go to Garmin Sg website to update it to the latest 2013.30 version. You do not have to delete it yourself as during the updating, it will overwrite the older map. As for the maps listed in serial no. 2 and 3, they are also old maps and whenever a new version is released you can have a free update also from the Garmin Sg website regardless of whether your is a LM version or not. THere is no requirement to delete the maps in s/no. 2, 3 and 4 unless you don't want them. Besides, these map provide very comprehensive JCV and LA which are very useful whereas the MSM v6.41's JCV are limited to only a few areas in Malaysia. The choice is yours.

Thanks Redstorm for taking time to respond to my query.

My Garmin 1460 is a localised set but sadly a non-LM version. Would I be correct to tick on either:

1. MSM 2013 NT v6.41 (current downloaded)

OR

Both these maps..

1. CN SGMY NT 2013.30 Malsing
2. City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT 2011.10 (outdated) ?

Any suggestions for which map to tick while driving in Singapore and while driving in Malaysia? I read through some of the replies and it appears that MSM 2013 NT vX.XX is recommended on Malaysian roads. I have a preference for JCV and LA while on the road.

Thanks again and well appreciated on your feedback.

Since yours is not a LM model, it doesn't make sense to pay to update the CN Sg/My map. I suggest you delete your outdated CN NT 2011.10 map and have both MFM and MSM NT 2013.30 maps installed. These two maps are just as good, if not better than the CN map. The choice is yours if you want to decide which map to use. For the most up-to-date map, it is always the MSM V6.xx map whereas the MSM and MFM 2013.30 maps, though is the latest, the data supplied to Garmin to create the maps were done a few months back. Whichever map you have decided to use, remember to tick only one map otherwise you get conflicting information during navigation or worse, ended up somewhere else than your intended destination.

Thanks, you have been very helpful and patience with your guidance; at last, I am no longer confused with the maps on my Garmin. I've managed to update all the maps available and will tick only one as per your advice! =D>
