you just bought it right? why don't you go back to the shop and get a 1 to 1 exchange if it is faulty.

for all you know it could be corrupted storage card.

I am new to GPS. I just brought a GPS from authorized dealer in Comet. But the set have lots of problem. I need help to overcome.

1) Set auto reset itself after i continuously search ( That is the SW issue)
2) Map not detail. All the HDB block didn't appear on the map. I try others Malsing map & save it in the micro-SD card (x:garmin/gmapsupp.img) & de-select the original map.Upon entering the Map. it will reset itself.
May i know how to overcome this issue?

thank in advance for the help
1) A few members reported this problem too. Can only wait for software updates.

2) POI and polygons of HDB blocks are not included in the MSM. If you really need to have HDB blocks in the map, then you will have to look for the Jerome's Donor Map.

For adding of maps in the nuvi 1xxx series, read this. But it might not work now due to software bugs.

The nuvi 1460 comes with dual maps preloaded. By default, both maps are enabled (with check mark).

Can those having auto shutdown problem try removing the check mark from one of the map?

I tried to enable either one of them but it could not help.
Apparently, when we did a search of any addresses. it found two addresses, when we tap on one of the addresses and hit go. it crashed and rebooted the unit.

Should we return the lemon back to the agent or we have to wait for the fixed. how long should we wait then... :fire:

Thanks Zeus73 for your enlighten of choosing one of the maps which I totally forgotten it. After choosing, I like the MSM. So far so good, my GPS is working fine.
So for those GPS keeps shutting off, you really needs to tell the agent off. My GPS really got no such problem.

Hi all,

Me also brought the same model. It also hangs. worse case is that it will reset itself when i use 3rd party map. 100% reproducible. So no 3th party map is allow unlike 765. However, thank to Good service provided by the authorized dealer. They help me solve the issue.

Thank you

Hi,
My experience with nuvi 1460.
Will reboot only with MFM maps. The preloaded MSM and Garmin City Navigator work flawlessly but must select one map at a time.
Address search works. All in all happy using it bcos large screen, fast and bluetooth for handsfree during driving.
