Anybody knows how to disable the irritating speeding tone? This unit very different from my previous model 205W

The above speed limit tone is embedded into current firmware for 2xxx series GPSr and you cannot disable it. All my 2xxx series got that tone which for me also irritating. Cannot drive above speed limit since my co-pilot (wife besides me) always alerted even when she asleep... ](*,)

I have 2 questions:

1) Regarding the 1s tracklog, do I "tick" all the options?

2) When clicked on "STOP RECORDING", somehow the GPS still track all the way. When I download the .gpx file into Mapsource, it also shows after the "STOP RECORDING".

Can't wait to start tracking :tracking:

Thanks for any help.

I suggest you check only the following option:

What you most likely saw is not the 1-sec tracklog but the Trip Log which cannot be stopped. You can only hide it and it is not 1-sec type. The 1-sec tracklogs are found in the hidden \.System folder in the subfolder \Logs\gpx - Full address: \.System\Logs\gpx\ that looks like this:

What you find in the \GPX folder is the Trip Log

Thanks jason.

You are most welcome, Bro sl005073,

You will notice from my \Logs\gpx folder, I do not stop recording. I find no advantage in stopping but the disadvantage of forgetting to start and the hassle of doing it.

Every time I switch on my GPS, a new recording starts automatically and when I have time to download the tracks, I simply delete what I don't want and move what I want to my PC. Simple.

Bro Jason, you are absolutely right. It is such a hassle and dangerous when you are alone and try to activate the tracklogging.

Not only "show hidden files...", must also "uncheck "Hide protected operating system files ...". then the hidden folder can be seen !

Checked traclog file, all seems fine :supz:

Hi gurus,

I can't find the answer to this so please help me if you can.

I wish to buy the Garmin 2465 for the local maps with JV/LA but I wish to use it when I'm in the US next month. Can I just load the Garmin City Navigator map for North America and it'll work the same as a local set, i.e JV/LA. I ask this cos I'm aware that a US Garmin can't show the JV/LA for SG because it's encrypted.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Zeus73. Now I'm wondering if I should buy a US set and load the MSM from here.
