Tested under two conditions:-
1. Not under the satellite (inside the house, point A)
From Where To, choose point B (starting point) or point C (destination point) either from POIs or Favourites. Press the list button (top left) and choose Simulating Go will bring you to Start and Destination Points. Once these two locations are done, press Start Simulator Go will navigate you from Point B to Point C accordingly.

2. Under the satellite (outside the house, point A)
Same steps as above but when you press the Start Simulator Go, you can only see the path in pink colour from Point B to Point C in browsing mode but no navigating shown because you are stationed in Point A. That's the different.

Hi bros,

Just to report on this model. I got it on the first day of the launch of PC Fair and has been using it since. Few things I've noticed:

1) Concurring on some other bros, when pressing go, it does take 20-30 secs at times for it to go back to the map and calculate. Wondering why since I believe the processor should be faster than previous models

2) If I take a POI from another map, but go to it from another map, it is unable to route to the place or the vehicle is travelling as though not on the map (outside the polygon lines)

3) If toggle City Navigator 2011.10, sometimes vehicle would not follow the map, especially tested near my area in Subang. Not sure whether software error or map error, very likely map.

4) Battery life seems quite bad. Compared to my old 255w, the 2465 just barely grazed the 2 hour mark. On normal use in 1 day, after fully charged at the end of the travel even without routing would already report low battery, whereas the 255w would just cruise to the next day.

Appreciate if other bros/members would comment whether faced with same problem or not. Would think to report to Garmin Taiwan for their note.

From which map to which map ? Please give example of POI. Please elaborate

Do the POI Icons only appear at 50m Zoom like older Garmin devices?

Most of the icons appear at 80m.

does anyone know if the 2460 in the U.S.A. is the "same" GPS? (what is the difference between 2460 and 2465?)

I don't think they are the same. The 2460 in US comes in in LMT and LT versions whereas there is only one single version for the localised 2465. Physically, the 2460 is a 5 inch device whereas the 2465 is only 4.3'. Although both share many similar features, I believed there are some differences if you care to read the spec on the websites to do a comparison.

I think the 2460 has a 5 inch screen:

http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-2460LMT-Wi ... 487&sr=8-1

the L, M and T don't mean so much physically because it just means whether or not you get traffic and/or lifetime map upgrades. it is because they're physical specs seem quite similar that is why I am curious - I like what I am reading about the 2465's quick satellite detection, and for my US trip I want something like that :-)

Garmin just have too many models and series already, search amazon I also eyes glaze over already, cannot take it :-P, was hoping someone already know :-)

Unless you are going to be stationed in the US for a long period of time and intend to migrate there, it is wiser to get the 2465 as you will be using it more frequently here and can benefit from the JCV and LA provided by the CN and MSM NT maps. To me, a 4.3' is more than good enough and it is more portable than a 5' in your pocket. Trust me, I have been using the 2465 frequently since I bought it despite also having the 3790 and 765 and it is excellent! It's satellite log on is second to none, which even the top end 3790 cannot compete.
