connect the usb directly to the nuvi. The driver will be installed by itself. You don't have to register to use the nuvi. Turn on the unit, go outdoor for a clear sky and get the satellites lock on.

Hi.. I tried again and this time realised when I plug in my GPS to my PC, i should select either Garmin / USB Storage mode. I tried USB Storage mode this time and managed to connect to mydashboard

I updated the software on my Nuvi...
however, I am unsure how do i register the retail pack of the City Navigator NT (Europe) :(

Still figuring it out

You do not register a map. You register your GPS. After your GPS is registered, the Garmin website will tell you if you are entitled to any free updates for the map or you have to pay for the update.

Re: Nuvi 2565 won't start.

#159 Post by BanBan » Mon Apr 02, 2012 5:15 pm

In the morning commute my 2565 start as usual and there was nothing amiss. But now it won't start just like that. It just cycle the Garmin logo again and again. This still happen when I took out the msd card. The same thing also repeat when I connect the unit to a pc. Is it because one of the maps in the nuvi memory got corrupted?

What should I do now? First to my mind is to hard reset the unit. How can this be done? Is there some other steps that I should take to enable the unit to start again?

Garmin nuvi 2565 - unable to add map to device

#160 Post by pandalai » Wed May 02, 2012 5:15 pm

Hi, i have a Garmin nuvi 2565, bought in Singapore late last year.
Just bought a map online (@ Garmin store) for Australia and New Zealand.
All goes well, until i tried to 'add the map to the device', and i was prompted that the device is not supported!!
"This device doesn't support City Navigator® Australia & New Zealand NT (166MB). Please connect a different device and try again"

oh dear .. that is USD160!! gosh

Anyone has this problem too? How else can i download the map onto my device? I am sure the map is compatible.
Thanks
