The revamped Garmin user interface in the upcoming Kenwood DNX9140 seems to integrate very well with the rest of the Kenwood functions. :thumbsup:

hey guys, i m new here. Interested in the dnx 9140. It got voice recognition input meaning dont have to enter the address throught keyboard anymore. Similar feature like th e 850/880 nuvi.

But it is expensive... usd1799 :cry: .... Anyone that bought the DNX/excelon series let it be the 81xx/71xx/61xx/51xx, can u tell us how much u payed for the duty tax/ custom fee? Hopefully its no more than 10% :-k

Anybody managed to get MSM3.01beta work in your Kenwood? My Kenwood 431 Garmin module crashed and went into an endless rebooting sequence. :(

Initially couldn't find the drivers in my notebook, so I downloaded them from http://www.garmin.com . Once connected, the Kenwood screen will prompt for "Garmin" or "Mass Storage". I went a step further, and discovered a secret.....
I removed the original base map gmapprom.img on the DNX7200, and replace it with Jerome's gmapsupp.img file. I inserted a SD card with mfm's gmapsupp.img. The end result is a combined map of Sg and the whole of Malaysia. Buildings that are not drawn on Jerome's map can now be seen due to mfm's map. Addresses that cannot be found on mfm's map can now be searched due to Jerome's map. Now I have the best of both worlds.....

Me: Kenwood new excelon dnx 9140 will be released in the u.s sometime this may. They released dnx 7140 on march 2009 which is similar to dnx 7340bt in Singapore. Will there be a similar one to dnx 9140 (maybe dnx 9340) in Singapore? The thing is the new one (dnx 9140) got voice control for gps navigation which I would like very much and worth the wait over dnx 7340. Thank you.

Kenwood: Thanks for your interest in Kenwood car audio.
Unfortunately, we are sorry to feedback that this model will not be for the Asian markets in this year (including Singapore).
Therefore, the only Built-in Navigation model will be DNX-7340BT (but, this model will only be coming tentatively in the 2nd half of this year).

Note: DNX-7320 is out already so probably going to get that one soon

So its seem like they name the model based on region
USA(dnx 71xx)
EUR(dnx 72xx)
ASIA(dnx 73xx)
i wonder if they ll release the 53xx or 63xx

I managed to get the Karen voice in my Kenwood already, need to use Garmin Webupdater fyi. :) Aust Karen is much more clearer than my English Emily. :P

Im using dnx 7120. The player cant seems to regonise chinese character while playing mp3. Is there any fix? thanks.
