Hi Sifu,
Any chance to incorporate Traffic Monitoring module in our Malsingmaps? Now, it can only activated in NAVTEC map only. :-'

Hi GPS expert,

I am having Nuvi 1300 and want to know is this model support FM traffic?
If yes, how to explore this function in this model?

Correct me if I'm wrong:
FM traffic is for live information about speed limit, speed camera and red light camera info.

Thanks.

For a Nuvi to support live traffic annoucement, it has to be a localised model. As far as I know, the 1300 is not a localised one and even then not many localised models supports this feature. FM traffic is meant for information on traffic condition like slow traffic, traffic jam and not speed limit, speed camera or redlight camera information. All such informations are not incorporated in the maps that are preloaded or even downloaded from this forum. To get alerts like speed camera, redlight camera, etc., you need to install them seperately from the Community POIs sub-forum.

I'm thinking to copy POI contents ( *.GPI ) from my friend model 1460 to my 1300,
may you advise will it be work?

Correct me if I'm wrong:
GPI file doesn't mater how old the version, it just need a latest map file (.img) to perform latest POI information.

Thanks.

The alert files, which are in .gpi format, can be copied from another device. It should work fine. The files, whether old or new, can work in any .img files.

Hi SiFu,
Need some advises from you again.

I can't find my friend Garmin 2465 POI folder and content but this model do have all the POI function, actually how this model work without POI files? Any file can share to my 1300 ?

I copy another friend Garmin 205W POI to my Garmin 1300, all working fine but only different is his 205W can show all the traffic light icon but mine 1300 didn't show.
I tried zoom with whatever spec also not showing but other icon like petrol station, clinic, etc all were showing.

Another issue, how come my 1300 not showing zooming spec once zoom in or zoom out during on navigation map? Any setting do i missed out?

Thanks.

The POI folder is actually there but in the hidden directory. What you see in your internal memory of your 2465, when you connect to your PC, is just the Garmin and a few other folders. In order to access the the "real" Garmin folder, you have to type "G:/.system" to view it and many other folders there. Whether you see or don't see the trafficlight has got nothing to do with the POI itself. It is largely dependent on the firmware itself.

Hi SiFu,
Which mean i can copy those POI files from 2465 and use in my 1300 if i found them?

How about my last question about the zooming spec not showing on my set?
Also due to firmware as well?

Thanks.
