Nuvi 780 should be the same as 760 but with MSN Direct. List price should be slightly higher. Check http://www.garmin.com for comparision. It is not unusual for a higher model to be on offer at a lower price sometimes.

ABC keyboard to QWERTY keyboard on nuvi
Hi,
For those who really don't like the ABC keyboard on the nuvis, there's a way to change letter layout to something close to the QWERTY keyboard. Procedure which I tried on a nuvi 200:
1. Connect your nuvi to PC.
2. Make a back-up copy of "British_english.gtt" file under "Text" directory in the GPS internal memory in case you make a unrecoverable mistake.
3. Use a text editor (eg. Wordpad) to edit the "British_english.gtt" file in the Text directory
4. On the 11th line of the file, it should read:
<upperkbrd>ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ</upperkbrd>
5. Change it to:
<upperkbrd>QWERTYUIOASDFGHJKL ZXCVBNMP </upperkbrd>
Note that there is a space character after "L" and 7 spaces between char "P" and "</upprkbrd>".
6. Do the same for the next line for small caps.
7. Save the file, restart your nuvi and select "British English" for keyboard under "Settings" - "Language"
Only problem is the character "P" is on the 3rd row instead of the 1st row.
The rest of the buttons with nothing on them are space characters.
Have fun!

Re: Simple solution for Nuvi on the new map 2.23 issues
Hello all,
I'm a very green newbie. Just bought a Nuvi 200 last week. I have some stupid questions to ask. Please don't hurt me
My device came with preloaded maps. These are the files I have in the main unit which I assume are the maps:
gmapbmap.img
gmapprom.img
GMAPSUPP.IMG
I also downloaded the free GM-Mysin.exe from MalSingMaps and installed it. It extracted one img file gmapsupp.img and I put it in my SD card in a newly created garmin folder. I'm not suppose to overwrite the GMAPSUPP.IMG file in the main unit, right?
Will install MapSource and see if I can contribute some new POI. Tracking is out of the question since my device is running on version 3.30. I read somewhere the hidden tracking function in only available in v3.40? Is there anyway I can upgrade to v3.40 without killing my device? I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to messing around with firmware upgrades afraid that I might turn it into an expensive paperweight...
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Or maybe I should stick with my motto "if it's not broken, don't fix it"
