You supposed to run the update file on your PC not save it on your device. Please follow the instructions on how to update your device carefully from the website where you download that file.

Regards,
Hi bro,
I tried doing it the whole morning,
reading thru' the forum :ko:

Yes, I got the sw v3.4.exe running on my pc,
then connect the GPS,
let it run, transferring of data,
what i get is the GCD file "gupdate" in my GARMIn folder

thereafter i checked the settings, it's still version 3.30

however when i run the webupdater, and run the program,
i get the new version 4.00 in my GPS.

so me still :ko: :-?

any pointers?

Bro mhs1864, first check your Nuvi's HWID at Nuvi:\Garmin\GarminDevice.xml so that you can determine the correct updater to be used. You can open the file with Notepad or an internet browser and then look for the string like this within the first few lines: <PartNumber>xxx-xxxxx-xx</PartNumber>. Usually within the <PartNumber> tags, Nuvi's HWID can be ascertained.

Your Nuvi's HWID is 0737 (US firmware), so Webupdater should have no problem updating it to the latest firmware available.

No need to downgrade, just update with latest patched firmware. More info here: How to patch N2x0W/2x5W/7x0/7x5 to enable 1-sec tracklog

Yes, because that site caters only for Sg/My localized units. Use Webupdater instead to update.

bro dvpro,
need your pointers again,

unable to upload the patch file thru' updater.exe
this msg kept appearing
"no update files could be found
please re-run updater from command line and
specify the directory containing the update files
as a command-line parameter"
