How about this topic for those users of this model who may have questions, experiences to share here?

Hi,

I am really new, just bought the Nuvi 200 yesterday after a colleague recommended it to me. Quite fun to use, and user-friendly too, and totally plug-and-play.

I got the MALSING maps in a SD card for $10 from Perfect Watch, where i bought the set.

I have 2 qns:

How do I update the maps in the SD card?
Also, what is the difference between "locked" and "open" version of the maps?

Thanks in advance.

Bro volvoht,

Go to this link and download this "All-in-One GMPSUPP (Open) June 21, 2007". The "All-in-one GMPSUPP (Locked) Aug 1, 2007 is only for those who have made contributions to this forum amongst other things are error and new POI reportings. They will be given the unlock code to downloaded the locked version. The open version, though older than the Aug version, can be downloaded by anybody without having to make any contribution and the map is as detailed as the latest.

Thanks!!
The SD card that I got already has the files, and they were last modified on 23 Jul 07. So I presume it is already the updated version?

Bro volvoht, take a look at the file downloaded in the card to see if it's the latest version.

Hi,

I am new, read somewhere in the old website that the Nuvi200 cant show POI or the traffic light compared to Nuvi 3xx. Cant remember exactly and I now I cant access the old forum to check out. The last time I checked the old forum, no one has an answer to it. Can Owners of Nuvi confirm that as I am considering getting one.

Thanks.

Jialat! AxeLa, you give PW malsingmaps. You make the gpsmappers members die faster. High Blood Pressure.

PW should not charge s$10 to his customers.

Dear Bro Volvoht,

Did you pay $10 for the SD card or $10 for the Malsing map? :-?
