So, before you start the connection with activesync, you have to somehow find way to clear up your pda storage space. 818pro has 128Mb of rom (storage memory), leave at least 20-30mb.
For 818pro, Mapking seems refuse to install and give a message unsuccessful installation. But The installer will leave mapking??.cab file in the root directory of storage card/SD card. Use this cab file to install Mapking in the storage card. If you want to install in any customized path, you can use cabinstal utility, free download. I use 818pro before, and it did happen to me, and successfully installed using .cab file.

If you don't plan to use any GPSr, then you can just install Garmin Mobile XT and load it with Malsingmaps. You should be able to view the map.

That's because the default location is somewhere in the US. Since, you don't have a GPSr and hence no GPS fix, you need to zoom out and browse for the detailed map that you have installed, and then zoom in until you see the map. A basemap will surely help you in the process, it's named GMAPBMAP.IMG and should be placed in the same folder of GMAPSUPP.IMG. You may download free World Basemap from this page: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downl ... &pID=11413

I assume you mean how to start Que skipping the above procedure. Download GARMIN.NVM and replace it in main \Garmin folder (make sure the file relaces the previous one, one way to know you got the right folder). However, as GARMIN.NVM also contains settings along with the last GPS fix data, you may want to re-set Que to your preference.
