Since Garmin Taiwan has emphasized that, "please contact your local dealer...", I believe we must really find out who is that local dealer.

There must be a main distributor who is responsible for this different version. The deal must be that the main distributor is to provide the update for this different product segmentation. Unfortunately, no one dares to claim the responsibility to this.

You can find the names and addresses of the local dealers on Garmin website.

This is a unit system file which contains info about the hardware.

i saw this file in my unit and wanting to delete them to clear for space.

I did before. However, US website shows this dealer and taiwan website shows another

I called too. And, what I can say is that... they know nuts about this software version. I remember tks's 200 indon version is 3.90 while mine is 3.60.

One of them told me the latest is "more than 4.00 but got bugs"??!! (apparently he is referring to US version). While another told me the latest being the 3.60! (just wanna assure mine is the latest!)

Yup, you are right that the so called "local agent" has absolutely no clue what is inside their local Nuvi set and they do not know what they are talking.

One even told me the firmware cannot be upgraded!

haiiiya...very easy looo...just download Webupdater form GArmin Website...install and connect your nuvi gps to pc with usb cable and webupdater will search for software, text, and voice update for your garmin model...

I tried before, but just can update the voice and not for the text (in Chinese)
