Nice catch & welcome back... erghhhh, but the fishes unfortunately don't live anymore... :(

I thought you were lost to a sea-mermaid brudder KG!!! =P~

When I go over to Sabah to meet brudder Bern (for property hunting), maybe it may be a good time to join yr fishing escapade too... \:D/
This year year, only Spore, AUS and NZ only.

See what I almost had for dinner in Spain, but it was at least 3,5 kilos which is too much to digest for a late evening meal....pffff :hungry:

Ordered the last two available...

What are the best freshwater fishing spots? We dont have a boat. Can we rent a boat at this spot? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

:welcome: to the Forum and yr 1st post is mainly filled with questions .... R U aware of where this forum is located and this thread is serving which members for the region they are better known for?

New York is wayyy off the charts mate! Unless there is Kuching Town/City in or near Long Island that the rest of the world is unaware all along....

If you do plan to "drive" all the way to Borneo, thats in S.E. Asia... I'm sure the real anglers of Sabah & Sarawak are able to help you with a boat too...

New york is best known for The Yankees in baseball and The BIG Apple for the shows of many... including The Westminster Show for Dogs... nothing on fish unfortunately.... :-k

You sound like a serious chap questioning your will... hence, DD (due diligence) by looking up, research and there's Google now, the keyboard is in front of you.... Ask, ask and ASK albeit Jim, Yahoo, Google or Bing these days....
Due diligence is your next educational assignment and you'll soon know which and which not, to take home and which is protected or close to extinct and you'll soon know a weebit more than us all gathered in the next sampan fishing trip.

All the best!!! in your next big catch.....

Kuchinguy, we've got to talk..!

I came to Kuching from the UK a few years ago.

This year I finally got a small boat (20ft) and have been fishing on Santubong river. It's OK but most of the fish are small. Am seriously thinking of going out to sea. The boat has a deep V hull and is designed for the sea (ex government boat, with cabin and 90HP Johnson).

If the sea fishing is good I'll aim for a 25ft boat next year :$$:

I LOVE the look of the fish you've been catching, but just how far out to sea do you have to go to get them?

Can you find those kind of fish say 5km from shore? I'm nervous of going much further in a small boat...

Also, PLEASE tell me that pond is in or near Kuching? I have looked for a long time for such a pond, never found one?

And can I come fishing with you one day? =P~

W.
