anyone can advise me.
I try to the file gmapprom1.img (from Garmin MSM NT2009.5), using my existing Mapsource v 6.13.7, but I can't open it The message say's that this file is not a valid Mapsource file and could not open it.
You can't open the file using mapsource as it is only for your device
I have the old MSM Malaysia/Singapore v2.30a still in my Mapsource.
You can request the unlock key for the latest map 3.05. Read here viewtopic.php?p=150187&f=4#p150187
Or is it that the Garmin MSM NT2009.5 can only be transferred to my Nuvi 255W and not for viewing using Mapsource?
Yes
Pls advise, Thanks.

First of all, pls up-date us the gps software that currently in your device. If you have garmin gmxt, then you can use malsingmaps garmin map.
If you have mapking software, then you can use malsingmaps mapking format.
Once you have identify the software, the go to the download section and down load the correct map format (garmin for garmin & mapking for mapking)

Hi anyone,

I am a complete newbie in this Garmin XT. I managed to install the apps in my phone E71. But I am having problem loading map into it. I have downloaded gmapprom1.unl and .zip, and put it in Garmin folder in my SD card, but it doesn't work. I have copied the files to root folder in both phone and SD card also didn't work. Can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance for any respond.

GMAPPROM1.IMG+GMAPPROM1.UNL does not work in GMXT, rename both to GMAPSUPP.IMG+GMAPSUPP.UNL or GMAPPROM.IMG+GMAPPROM.UNL. The files should be in \Garmin folder at data card.

Just want to add :
1) .unl file has to be created base on your phone ID, and usable on this phone only.
you can't just download other's .unl file
2) it has to be in \Garmin folder together with the map, not root
