You need to register on-line through Garmin Website as follows:

Hi, I got this phone last week, and the online Communicator says 'No phone found. Make sure you have it set to mass storage mode or file transfer mode and try again.'

I'd installed the plugin in Firefox and Safari and put it in the Mass Storage mode.

I did a search in the Help link and could not find M10. help anyone? thanks.

Three options will appear immediately after you connect up the hot synch cable to your computer:

1. Activesynch,
2. Mass storage mode,
3. Internet sharing.

You have to choose option 2 manually to get into mass storage mode, else the default will be activesynch mode.

Yep, i had selected it, it's in mass storage mode, and I can browse my files in the phone. We can set the 'default' to either automatically sync once connected or as mass storage. But, even as mass storage it still doesn't want to detect my phone... :(

Anyone had done this successfully?

I had successfully downloaded the latest MSM NT map from the official Garmin website in mass storage mode quite sometime back. I don't have the plugin in Firefox and Safari as what you have. Sometimes, a third party software can cause other unforeseen interface problem.

aHA! just managed to register and download the updates. I think it's a Mac PC problem thing. The browser only managed to detect my phone when I use a PC. Even though on the garmin website it seems to have support for Macs. what a folly! They should really buck-up their system for M10 when they launch it. I don't recommend this phone for a full Mac user, aiya.

My telco SIM card does not come with a data plan (company policy), which means I will not be able to use the AGPS function. Will appreciate feedback on the device's speed to get a position-lock without AGPS.

Thanks !
