Re: Updated software for my Nuvi 200w
Since yours is not a localised set, you won't benefit from downloading the MSM NT map from the Garmin site as you won't be able to use JCV and LA on your 200W. My advise is to download the MSM ver 5.01a from here. This map is even more up-to-date than the MSM NT map.civicavantae wrote:Hi all, I would like to have your help to give me a guide on where can i get the latest garmin map & how do I download the latest Mal/sing map into my current GPS (Nuvi 200w). Re: looking for gmapprom1.img and gmapprom1.unl files
No need for any of those, just download this latest MSM map file: http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 19#p181719
Then, unzip and place GMAPSUPP.IMG in the map folder. If your Garmin is a Nuvixxx series (3 digit model), the map folders are Nuvi:\Garmin and datacard:\Garmin folders. If your Garmin is a Nuvixxxx series (4 digit model), the map folders are Nuvi:\Map, datacard:\Map, and datacard:\Garmin folders.

Re: looking for gmapprom1.img and gmapprom1.unl files
Thank you..
I have copied the file gmapsupp.img into the GPS Garmin folder. But it seems like it has problem to acquire satellites and my current location (Malaysia). Do I need to load any maps into the GPS?
Thanks for your info & help...

Re: looking for gmapprom1.img and gmapprom1.unl files
You're welcome.
You can verify that the map is installed correctly by checking at Nuvi's Map Info.pyhoo wrote:I have copied the file gmapsupp.img into the GPS Garmin folder.
It may take some time, and you need to be outdoors, away from any obstruction, in a stationary position. If it takes rather long to get the signals, you can perform "clear all user data" procedure (hold your finger on the lower-right corner of Nuvi screen while turning on Nuvi. Keep finger pressed until pop-up window appears. Touch Yes to clear all user data.).pyhoo wrote:But it seems like it has problem to acquire satellites and my current location (Malaysia).
To acquire satellites - no, but to utilize it as a navigation device - yes.pyhoo wrote:Do I need to load any maps into the GPS?
