Just a Thank You

#2 Post by gchaltung » Sat Apr 09, 2011 5:29 am

Hi Guys,
I live in London, UK and am going on 2 week visit to Malaysia (I was born there!). Have just loaded latest Malsing map.
Just want to say a big thank you to this community for doing all the hard work to make the maps, explain how to upload, negotiate with Garmin etc etc.
Kudos to you !
Peter :tq: :good:

hi,

need some help over here.

sometime back, i bought my refurbished 1350 from this website bestbuyelect.com

however, the support for this set was weak..
currently only using NT2010.40 map...

obviously it is very outdated and many area especially in malaysia were missing.

i tried to update the map from garmin.com.sg, however could not open the file as the unit ID seems to be invalid.. i suspect it could because the unit was a refurbished unit.

is there any other alternative that i could still download the latest garmin map without creating rhe access code?

please hep...

Hi kurt_goh,

There is high chances that you bought refurbished unit that is not for Malaysia/Singapore market. That is why you are unable to get the NT2011.10 unlock code from garmin website.

As an alternatives, you may download MSM weekly compilation map from viewtopic.php?p=187429#p187429.

Buy an SD card and copy the map you downloaded into your SD card and store in a \Map folder in the card. Storing in a \Garmin folder is also possible but then the map file must be named gmapsupp.img and nothing else. Using an SD card read through a card reader, you do not need the PC to recognize the GPS at all.

There are no system files or any other files to install in your SD card except for the map file. Go to the following link to download and install the latest map. Thanks.

Map Question

#10 Post by hippoheyhey » Tue Apr 19, 2011 12:42 pm

I am driving to KL/Cameron/Ipoh.
First time there.

I know MSM NT v5.13 is more up to date.
Can advise which map is better in terms of Lane Assist and JCV?

a) Malsingmaps NT 2011.10
b) MSM NT v5.13

Which map has more lane assists and JCVs for KL/Ipoh?

Can MFM custom POI be used together with MSM NT maps?
