For Singapore, the postal code is a very accurate representation about the location of the address. It is not an estimate of + -100m of the location. If the data is from LTA, it is even better. :-#

I'm not sure about Malaysia, though.

Hi Bro xyber
Do u see whether these two maps are installed in the same folder? If yes, pls move or delete the old map. Hope this works.

When I installed NT2011.10, the mapset was extracted to the SD card Garmin folder with a file name gmapprom1. I moved this file to the main memory Garmin folder replacing the old gmapprom1 and it worked. Hope this helps. You may want to backup the old gmapprom1 in the main memory just to play safe.

Let me share my experience when moving maps into the main memory of the Nuvi 2xx series and this might help you avoid disaster.

Map files are usually big file and can take a long time to load into the main memory of the Nuvi. The only way to do this is to connect your Nuvi to the PC via the USB port. Since the time taken to copy the map into the GPS is long anything can happen during the process. Here is a list of typical calls/PM I gathered through the years asking for help:-

- My PC lost power/hangs during the copying process.
- I accidentally remove the USB cable during the copying process.
- I loaded a corrupt map.

The consequences of the above action is a bricked GPS that hangs at ...'Loading maps...'. USB connection to the GPS will not work and you'll be left with an expensive paper weight. My advise when transferring maps to the main memory is to test it first using a SD card. This will ensure any corrupted map will not be used. To resolve the other problems always rename the Map Filename to anything else but the official Filename before copying. Changing the Filename extension is the preferred option (newer system uses 'anyfilename'). This will ensure the GPS not reading a map file that is not completely copied and causing the hangup. After the file is copied you can rename it to the official Filename + ext. Since renaming filename is very fast your risk factor will drop proportionally....

Hope this helps... cheers!

Your post is simply too brief for us to figure out what went wrong. Which map and version did you download? Which road and at which particular point did it asked you to make an illegal turn? It would be helpful to take a snapshot from your device and upload it here. Without the full details, we are at a loss how to help you. So, please help us to help yourself. Thank you.
