Hello there everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place for me to post this question please forgive me if it's not. Anyway, my issue is that I have 2 units of Garmin Nuvi (Nuvi 200 & Nuvi 1100). We just moved to Malaysia from Canada and these GPS were bought there. So I figured that it's best if I can use a Malaysian map on my Garmins.

I practically have no problem whatsoever installing the MSM maps onto my Nuvi 200 main memory. It simply works like a charm. However, my problem here is with my Nuvi 1100. I can't seem to locate any .IMG files on it. Can any of you techies assist me in the right way of installing the Malaysian map onto my Nuvi 1100?

Thank you all in advance

Create a new folder "Map" from the main memory root and copy gmapsupp.img to this folder.

Thank you for your prompt reply, just one final question before I attempt this:
Should I copy the gmapsupp.img file to the newly created MAP folder and leave it as it is or rename it to gmapprom.img?

Thanks again.

Hi there,

I just bought a nuvi 1390 LMT from the states and am trying to download malsin maps onto it.
I'm glad that there's such a forum to help newbies like me.

However, I've followed the download instructions but still am unable to to view the maps
Would appreciate any help with this. Have downloaded as per instructions and reated folders "garmin" and "JCV" on my SD card.
Do I need to unlock the maps? if so, any kind soul willing to post instructions on how to do it?

Pardon me for my ignorance.

No need to unlock..

After you followed the instruction did you select the map on the GPS device:
Go to Settings> Map > Map Info > Select MSM NT Map
