I've run out of suggestions. Unless other members have any things else to try out, it is suggested to seek admission to Garmin Taiwan hospital :(

Mine sometimes need about 5 mins to get hooked to the satellite especially when I leave it to sleep for quite some time. I don't know how long he waited to get hooked.

Short of saying it is a technical glitch which requires admission to ICU of Garmin hospital, I once waited for 30 mins to get a satellite fix. This is after I have moved more than 6000km from the last fix. And I waited for the fix in the open, away from tall buildings or obstruction to the clear sky.

I'm outside in the open. Even left the GPS in the open for one hour. Still can't get a fix.

For a normal working set, even the most "constipated" one, meaning kept in cold storage for quite sometime, it surely doesn't need an hour to get a fix. Send it in for a repair.

Did you take a look at the "Satellite Page"?

Any satellite detected with satellite strength?

If it's totally empty, the unit is most likely gone case.

One remote possibility, the antenna cable / soldering that connects the antenna to the main board could have got disconnected / cracked ... but you need to open the set to check .... which will void warranty if set less than 1 year old.

Try using the external antenna and see if signal is attained ..

Sigh, now my turn to experience 60Csx crappy behavior - it beeps continuously when power off and have to remove batteries. Reformatted the memory card and install the v5.44 map, still no improvement.

The next thing to do is perhaps to reinstall software v4.00?
