I tried and do this "download zip file 5.42 and unzip and put in SD card/garmin. It will not override pre-installed files which are in MainMemory/system which by default is a hidden directory" but the map still not appear... i then moved from the main unit folder /JCV and put it in the SD card....the malsing 2011.30 appear but still the 5.42 map didn't show. Is there any other way to do it ?

I see two maps. gmapsupp_v544 and MSM_MSv544, do I need to load this two maps to my Garmin 2xx? How do I go about?

For direct load to a Garmin device you only need the gmapsupp_v544 file.

The MSM_MSv544 is needed if you use Garmin Mapsource application for viewing the map in your PC/Lappy.

Yes, MSM 2012 NT v5.47 is suitable for Garmin Nuvi 1350 - in fact any Garmin GPS.

Hi All,

1st time updating my 1350 using MSM. I have copied and loaded all the necessary files into the SD card. Few questions below :

1) Any way to transfer the files from SD card to unit itself so i can remove the SD card?
2) After inserting the SD card into unit. I went to Map -> Info, it shows 3 items.
(A) MSM 2012 NT V5.48
(B) Malsingmap Malaysia/Singapore Brunei NT 2010.40
(C) City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT2010.40
Have i updated the map correctly? Is there any step i should do beside just inserting the SD card into the Garmin?

Thanks in advance for any reply and assistance. Thank you.

Looks like you done a good job. MSM NT5.48 is loaded in your device.

Would not recommend you loading all stuff into Main Memory for below mentioned reasons

a. You risk bricking your Nuvi as it is very unforgiving to any map corruption. It will refuse to bootup or go into endless loop .. with no way of recovering.

b. The more the main memory is filled, the more prone is the Nuvi to display lag ....

c. SD card also like dust cover, prevents dust from entering via the SD slot if left empty.
