Thank you for the tip. Now I know what i have been missing, mapsource software.
Does mapsource come with the gps unit when you buy them? I was not given any mapsource software when I bought my 1350. When I tried to download from the net, it always say I do not have previous mapsource and download terminated.
Allow me to show you an easy way to load Mapsource into your PC.
- Download the Mapsource_xxxx.exe program from Garmin
Download.
- Create a folder in C drive called Garmin (C:\Garmin).
- Copy a file into the newly created Garmin folder, it can be any file (a small file will do) and rename it Mapsource.exe
- Run the download Mapsource_xxxx.exe program.
This method will 'fools' Mapsource into believing that there's a previous Mapsource installation....

.... Hope this helps... Cheers!
Tried it but still 'previous mapsource not found and download terminated'

Try this "magic".
Use WinRAR to extract the Mapsource exe file to a folder.
Then,
1. Click Main.exe to install.
2. Immediately after its completion, click Setup.exe
3. Then install a map.
That's it.

Please check your avoidances and see if you have checked avoiding Toll Roads. If you have then uncheck it.
Avoidances should be found by touching Tools/Settings/Navigation/Avoidances

I cannot perform hard reset on my Garmin 1350.
When i turn on,after the "Garmin" logo, my gps will auto shut down.
I call to Aeco and the techinician explain maybe software corrupted.
How can i solve it? Thanks.

Sounds like you have copied a corrupted map into your main memory. Did you?
If so, a hard reset will not work.
Then you may have no choice but to get your distributor to have it sent to Garmin Taiwan. It is that serious otherwise why do we keep discouraging people from copying maps into the main memory?

Hi guys, not sure if anyone is still browsing this discussion as last posted was years ago. I have a Nuvi 1350 purchase in Singapore awhile ago. Could I check if I am able to update my current firmware (2.70) to the current (6.30) which is available online? I went to Garmin site and was told that the updating of the firmware is to be done through "Garmin Express". Therefore downloaded and tried, however, it is able to only update other stuff except for the firmware version. I manage to find the file for the firmware 6.30 in .GCD format. Any idea how to or has anyone did this firmware update before?
Please advice.

The only reliable software to update your 1350 is thru Garmin Express. The software will check your model, product region code and available firmware for your specific unit.
I think you well aware that every Nuvi sold are set based on certain market region & unit PCB code (from what I know). If you update your device other than recommended by Garmin Express, you might lose MY/SG region map updates from Garmin (such as JCV etc) or worst, could bricked your device.
