Missing postcode search field in "Address" menu

#1 Post by mikeleongcy1963 » Sun May 05, 2019 10:01 pm

Dear Seniors,

I just updated my map for the 1st time on my Garmin Drive 51. (bought last year)
After the update, the search by postcode is missing from the "Address" menu.

Menu in Address (Updated/latest MSM 2019 NT v8.29)
Spell Town,
Search All,
Change Country

Menu in "Address" (old map CN SGMY NT 2017.40)
Spell Town
Enter Post Code
Search All
Change Country

I search around the forum for this topic but don't seem to find an exact match to my problem. Did I miss out some steps in the update ?
I followed the steps (extract and copy the downloaded files to my micro SD - Garmin folder and used the raster version of the JCV file)
The navigation works and seems to be in order - except .search by postcode is missing.

Thanks in advance

Hello mikeleongcy1963,

Welcome to MSM. Pls note Postcode will only work in Singapore Map.
You can find out more from here ---> http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewt ... 198946#top

For older Nuvi,
For MSM NT v6.xx/v7.xx/8.xx and above,
Touch Where To? -> Points of Interest -> Spell Name

Since your's is a new model, it may differ. Give it a go.

Thanks Bartmp8,

Yes it is for Singapore.

My is the newer model smart drive 51 and postcode search is accessed via "where to > address > postcode".
This is where the problem is. The postcode field is missing. Using the old map, it is there.

I have a older device nuvi 2565 and tested it. The new map seems ok (Where to > POI > search)

Hope this explains the problem I have better.

For MSM NT v8.xx, you CANNOT search postal code via Address, it only works via POI search.

There should be a way to search by POI on your smart drive 51. Maybe it's named differently. Just play around to see which option works.

OIC. I misunderstood then. Will see if I can search under POI
