What do you mean by auto-shutdown? It turns itself off after some time or it soft-resets itself or it turns itself off when you are using it???

it turns itself off without me noticing it..
it's like sneaking sneaking to turn off... :(
but when i'm using it, no problem le.. never auto-turn off..

it's not soft reset.. it's total turn off

yea,, i got check the 'hold' button.. it's already unlock...

then i press the 'standby' button on top once, nothing comes up, twice nothing comes out..
the screen totally blank and the there's no LED blinking on top...

so, i press longer, then it started up the PDA..
so, meaning, it got shutdown automatic le..

but dunno why also...

I got this problem with my Asus P535 recently..
it keeps on auto-shutdown by itself.. which I was totally unaware of it..

anyone having this problem?
Could it be the contact between the battery and your P535 ?
It auto shut down when you left in on the pocket when you are walking?

So what you are saying is it goes off, and you can't get any incoming calls or such? And when you turn it on again you have to enter your password again?

Usually PDAs don't go "off" like that, it will go off but more in a "standby" mode, unless you remove the battery, have you checked your "Power" options, of how long it takes for it to turn off and such.

But in your case, if it does goes totally off and you cant get any calls in, there is something wrong with it, better send it in for warranty.

Garmin Que on ASUS P535, MapSource reported GPSID as "0"

#19 Post by room2411 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 8:10 pm

I have a P535 Chinese model. After installing Garmin Que and GPSGate, and the Malsing maps I could see the maps present. When I use MapSource ( came with CD accompanying my GPSMap60CS but updated to latest version) to check it shows the unit ID as "0", just wondering is this normal? Also I could not load a world Map into the unit as it showed a fault and asked to be re-installed. Other wise I could see the satellites and everything seems normal.

I could not try the MalSing maps as I am in China, also GPSProxy failed with a fault message but GPSGate is okay.

Any enlightenment will be much appreciated.

Warning! not to set MIOMAP 3.3 in sirf mode

#20 Post by karkeys » Sat Jan 26, 2008 7:30 pm

i'm testing Miomap 3.3 with P535 and in the config there is option to use sirf and nmea mode. Since p535 got sirft chipset, i did try to set miomap config in sirf mode..then my GPS signal cant be detected, even if i use gpsproxy or gpsgate. After hard reset also the signal cant be detected. Acnt do anything except have to send for service..luckily my p535 GPS signal back to normal.
After reading few forums, some users with builtin GPS having the same problem, and the solution to get back the signal is to remove your PDA battery for one night, then can gain back the GPS signal...
