The passing of a dear friend and comrade..... Rickvon

#1 Post by rotweiler » Tue Dec 18, 2007 5:34 pm

It is my sad duty to report that a long-standing member of the GPS community and a dear friend, Rickie Von, was killed in a Motor Vehicle Accident on Sunday in Thailand.

Rickie will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.

On behalf of this community as well, I extend our sincere condolences to his long-time partner, Beng Suan.

Oh no.... Rickvon....

This is devastating news to all of us at MSM.

Our condolences to his family and loved ones.... :(

Can one of the mod dig into our archives and pull out a photo of Rick here in the first post for all of us to remember him?

Thanks...

Robo,

Thanks for calling me, dragging me out of a long afternoon meeting.

I am really sad to hear this news of an old friend. I remembered very well what he did for me the first time we met in KL. I was asking where to print some documents, and he practically asked me to email to him , printed it and hand-delivered it to my hotel ........... and then he came with his BH for a drink at the lobby at night.... somewhere in 4th Oct 2006.

I remember this link very well... http://www.malsingmaps.com/oldforum/mod ... 1450#51450

Sorry.. I have to stop writing now.. tears are swelling as memory is too fresh in my mind for this good cheerful buddy......

Rickvon, if your soul can read this...... we miss you... very much.

This is a sad day for all who knew RickieVon. [-o< I only have read his posts and his trips with advises on the Forum and he will certainly be someone many in the biking community will miss.

May his legacy with friends and beloved be cherished and long remembered for the person he has been to all who knew him well with his comfort & companionship. [-o<

Can anyone shed more light as to RickVon's fatality confined to him alone or there are more involved including casualties albeit serious or light? Is his body still in Thailand or it has be repatriated to Singapore/Malaysia?
