Hi enigma,
Also like to know the condition of the road, is there a lot of tight turns, road width and overtaking lanes. 4-hour Ipoh-KT sounds very sweet :-).
Especially if there's less of horrible pole holes like along Route 4. 8-)

The condition of the road is quite OK, ofcourse it has alot of turn because of hilly condition, but today technology of making road make turn become easy. There are also crossing road for the wild animals to cross the road without interfearence main road. Hope someone of us using that road can collect several POIS and post it to this forum for updated purposes.

My friend had travel to northen Selangor during Hari Raya festival using this route. He said that this route save him about 160 KM compared to K.Terengganu - Kuantan - KL.

It takes about 5 hrs to drive from BBBangi [or Putrajaya] to GMusang via KLipis and probably another 3hrs to drive to KT - about 8hrs :drive: in total.

Finally, its open to public.

I remembered query regarding the opening in 2006, was told on Jan 2007. Well, this is one of the most scenic route, I guess.

Bro Enigma, can send me Simpang Pulai - Kuala Berang Route file? Thanks.

Hi,

Have planned and looking forward to drive to Kuala Terengganu from Cameron Highlands, via Kuala Berang along this route next week. Thanks very much for the route descriptions.

Appreciate you can recommend a nice hotel/seaside resort (< RM250 ?) near KT that we can stay before returning S'pore the next day. Thank You.

Thanks guys..im intending to use this road this coming new year to Kota Bharu.Must study the map first especially from Gua Msang to chiku etc..I will get some Poi's for travellers around this region!!Hopefully whatever Poi's I plot could assist travellers.
Since this is considered new area..detailed Poi's is essential...ie in case of emergency..etc
P/s..must travel during the day time this time & not being a nite stalker for this purpose

My personal favs in Poi's for this area shall be of course the main ones...mandatory.. 1st ie police stations, clinics, resthouse etc, toilets, petrol stations, food outlets etc
2nd categories ie the accident prone areas, any human settlements ie village etc, water point, workshops, tyreshops, car parking areas, scenic places, historical etc
