My friend is going to US and bring along her Nuvi China 310 (TTS). She is not driving, just carrying it along. I just realised that it did not come with a AC adapter. I found a AC USB charger for one of my old MP4 players. Output is stated as DV 5V 1A. Actually, I had already plugged it in and tried. It fits but nothing happens, so I have no idea if it is charging. I was also worried that it might damage the unit, so I quickly removed it.

Can this charger be used? Garmin website does not state the specs of its AC charger. But the online manual for 310 states "Power input: 12 VDC".

The other important thing that you need to check is, if your AC USB adaptor is auto voltage type (110~230V). The US have different power voltage.

Thanks. I am aware of the voltage difference. That can be taken care of. In any event, my charger is 110-220V. I just need to check the voltage output.
