Mapsource Installer for Perth and Surrounds as well as Western Australia - South West cached in MapCenter2.

"Perth and Surrounds" covers Perth and surrounding towns. Emphasis on Tourist destinations.

Download the Installer if you have MapSource. Download binary files if you do not.

Let me know if there are any areas of interest that you think ought to be included! Tracks, POIs, comments etc most welcome!

Latest: More streets added to Fremantle and Perth. Some arterial roads also added to south of Perth

[IMG] Western Australia - SW Routable

#2 Post by kc » Wed Jul 25, 2007 3:14 pm

Routable map of the South Western parts of Western Australia. Routes across boundaries with "Perth and Surrounds". Main highways and some details of towns popular to tourists are included and city-indexed. Includes Bunbury, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, Pemberton, Augusta and Albany.

This map forms part of the WA mapset. Download the Installer if you have MapSource software and wish to have both maps. Otherwise download binary files separately.

Australia Map

#3 Post by vic10 » Tue Sep 04, 2007 11:04 pm

All the Australia maps I've found on sale cost $300 or more. I'm just going there for a holiday. Can you please recommend either a free or inexpensive map which I can use on a TIBO system? You may also email me at <royalfan@mac.com>.

Hi there,

Planning a loooong holiday in Sydney in December, beside there also plan to drop by Gold Coast.

Appreciate any 'free' routable maps. Will contribute any POI (based on food places I have been with my Australian nieces) during that period.

Cheers

Check out MapCenter2. I think AlexChow has some rather impressive work on NSW / Queensland including Sydney and Brisbane:

Hi from Australia.
I'm not sure what a TIBO system is, but here are some good links:

You can get a free map produced by "shonky logic" from Australan Government maps. There is a link at:
http://www.gpsaustralia.net/forums/show ... php?t=2525
This covers all Australia, but only has main roads, it does not have suburban streets in cities.

For $300 you are looking at City Navigator. There is a non-routable version called Metroguide for under $200. Link here:

Hi Vic 10
Welcome to the Malsingmaps community. :welcome:

This forum is all about Garmin and its related stuff.
The TiBO uses a special version of Destinator for navigation, called Destinator ND. And this is totally incompatible with Garmin maps. You will have to search elsewhere for maps.

FYI - "Shonkymaps" are non auto routable and are designed more as a Topo Map with extensive geographical features including contour lines etc.

As stated, it has minimal street details in cities.

Another alternative is Tracks4Australia (free download) but again non auto routable although I believe the road coverage in rural area is quite good.

Try this out.

Non-routable, but quite detail with POI.
