IMHO our wiki contains a lot of useful info. However, the presentation and dissemination of information is not too organised because everybody had been busy writing articles but not organising it. I appreciate if anyone working as newpaper/magazine editor can help us organise our articles better.

One of the good thing about Wiki is that you can organise the wiki articles in many ways simultaneously.

(1) Having multiple main page (portals) as starting point for new readers of the wiki. Our current wiki main page was organised in Table of Contents (TOC) form that may be good for those who want to read almost everything in the wiki, but hard to use for those with specific interest. Look at Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:List_of_portals portals project to see the multiple ways of starting reading Wikipedia based on your interest.

(2) Having articles "tagged" with multiple relevant categories. Our current wiki has a number of categories such as HowTo, Map Authoring, Reviews, and Tracking. Using categories as ways to group the articles complements the portals.

I've just created http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/New_Main_Page for us to edit until it looks great and much better than our current main page at being the starting point for new users to read our Wiki.

Bro Sabre, I need permission to edit my wiki on speedtraps here http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.p ... trap_files

The links are changed now, and need to be updated.

Plenty of work needed. Allow us to help you councillors to slowly reorganise the 'NEW' Malsingmaps.

Best wishes,
Surinder

There seems to be an error when clicking on "Solving that problem of not alerting in non-navigation mode is found here"

That Link proabably is to the old forum which no longer exist, Antyong has recently restored the last 5 days backup of previous forum somewhere..and it will be a difficult but possible for wiki editors to re-link those articles to the Newly restored backup ...hehe I think so... :-k

Besides TOC, we need search textbox to allow us to do search...

I personnally finds that our wiki has too many things cramp into 1 page. Although it has saperator on each sections, but still too much of information and dunno what to read first.

The layout of howstuffwork website gives a very comfortable view of articles... check this out : http://auto.howstuffworks.com/smart-car.htm

Notice that on top of each page, "inside this article" listed where all the section being saperate into pages. "NEXT" button on the bottom page for user to proceed with the next section.
